2. EXERCISES FOR DISCUSSION

2.1 THE INTERNET: Think about the following questions:

• What sites do you like visiting on the internet?
• How often do you visit new sites?
• What kinds of sites have you bookmarked or added to your favourites?
• Do you regularly visit English language or learning sites?

2.2. SITES: Which of the following sites do you often use? What do you like / dislike about them?

2.3 LOOKS: You have been offered the chance to have free cosmetic surgery. Give your opinion on various parts of your body and what you would like to change and why:

2.4 DISCUSSION: Here are some questions you can try asking yourself before you come to our discussion on Wednesday:

l) What did you think about what you read?
m) What kind of social network do you have?
n) Would you like to give scores to the photos posted to the site?
o) Would you like to change your looks?
p) Have you ever considered any form of cosmetic surgery?
q) What are you sick of wasting time and money on?
r) Do you think the Internet is a good place to meet and date people?

FIRST, YOU NEED TO LEARN NEW VOCABULARY AND EXPRESSIONS THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO USE FOR THE DISCUSSION.

SECONDLY, YOU HAVE TO PREPARE THE TOPIC BY LOOKING UP INFORMATION IN THE INTERNET, BOOKS, ENCYCLOPAEDIAS.

THIS WAY YOU WILL FEEL MUCH MORE CONFIDENT AND AT THE SAME TIME YOU WILL HAVE MUCH MORE TO TALK ABOUT.

FINAL TASK:

HERE IS ONE FINAL TASK THAT YOU MAY DO IN ORDER TO COVER THE FOUR SKILLS YOU SHOULD FOCUS ON WHEN LEARNING A LANGUAGE: LISTENING, READING, SPEAKING AND WRITING.
