PREPARING A DISCUSSION IS FUNDAMENTAL:
THIS MUST BE DONE IN TWO DIRECTIONS:
FIRST, YOU NEED TO LEARN NEW VOCABULARY AND EXPRESSIONS THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO USE FOR THE DISCUSSION.
SECONDLY, YOU HAVE TO PREPARE THE TOPIC BY LOOKING UP INFORMATION IN THE INTERNET, BOOKS, ENCYCLOPAEDIAS.
THIS WAY YOU WILL FEEL MUCH MORE CONFIDENT AND AT THE SAME TIME YOU WILL HAVE MUCH MORE TO TALK ABOUT.
FINAL TASK:
HERE IS ONE FINAL TASK THAT YOU MAY DO IN ORDER TO COVER THE FOUR SKILLS YOU SHOULD FOCUS ON WHEN LEARNING A LANGUAGE: LISTENING, READING, SPEAKING AND WRITING.
Write a composition and leave it in the blog as a comment to Session 24, I will edit it in the blog so that everybody can learn from other people´s opinions. Choose one of these two topics:
- What event has caused the biggest anguish in your country? Express your opinion.
- 'Travelling by plane is one of the safest ways of travelling', express your opinion.
What event has caused the biggest anguish in your country?
ReplyDeleteTo start with, I will say that Spain is not a such a distressing country. We exaggerate, we gossip, we talk nonsense but I can remember a really big anguish which have involved the whole country. Not as far as I´m concerned about the running of Spain as a society.
Maybe, the terrorism is the most relevant worry and its consequences are the most sensitive for people. Crimes like the Miguel Angel Blanco death involved an unanimous mobilization against ETA and the protest demonstrations were followed everywhere.
Apart from that, the tragedies we watch on the news everyday are daily life and we have became not affected by murders, kidnaps and plain crashes. Only Haiti seems to have impacted on the audience and we usually hear of this concert or the other TV conquest which benefits are used to help Haiti people. That´s nice, very sensitive but we forget about our own curses: crisis, unemployment, corruption. Are we able to move our anguish against that? I very much doubt it.
