  1. I do not know if Rosana was thinking on me when she chose this subject but it is quite probable, so here I am. What I am going to explain next, it is like a footballer talking about a football match, something obvious. Why, if Spanish students start to study English at primary school or before, can they hardly speak a word in this language and much less understand a native speaker after they leave University? Of course, English phonetic and spelling are guilty of our failure but, apart from these, I think our educational system is not working as it should and neither Spanish student work enough. If you mix all this ingredients, you get our current English level. To end, I would like to propose that children started learning English without writing, reading or grammar, just listening and speaking, as native do and only after two or three years they continued with the rest of the subjects.

  2. Here I go again !! I am going to fix something at this part of the blog... in case that it fails again, I will send the rest of practical exercises to you, Rosana, directly to your email inbox.

"In my opinion, educational system doesn´t work properly nowadays.
I think the way we get in touch with a foreign language should be the same as we do with our own mother tongue. Of course we need to get enough knowledge to be able to express our ideas, to communicate each others,.., but how can we get it? A lot of time and effort are required to manage the grammar structure, to be able to analyse sentences, discover new vocabulary as time passes by and we grow, etcetera.

Probably, Spanish children have more problems by the time they try to get in contact with the English language because the difficulties of understanding between spelling and reading.

At the EOI, languages are taught and learnt in a better way than outside at primary and secondary schools…. Thanks GOD !

we should get involve with the cultural way of thinking and behaviour of the society we are studying, to be able to understand a foreign language in an adecuate line and context"
